Women’s Health in Women’s Hands (WHIWH) Community Health Centre is an accredited community health centre that provides primary health care to Black Women and Women of Colour from the Caribbean, African, Latin American and South Asian communities in Metropolitan Toronto and surrounding municipalities. The staff are a dynamic, team of Black Women and Women of Colour who speak numerous languages. The clinical team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, diabetes nurse educator, dieticians, chiropodist (feet), and pyschotherapists. The health promotion, community health and research teams work together with the clinical team and community to foster health and wellness in the lives of individual Caribbean, African, Latin American and South Asian women and their communities.
WHIWH is committed to working from an inclusive feminist, anti-racist, anti-oppression and multilingual participatory framework in addressing the issue of access to healthcare for our mandated priority populations encompassing gender, race, class, violence, sexual orientation, religion, culture, language, disability, immigration status and socioeconomic circumstances.
