The Body Mass Index (BMI) is a statistical and mathematical method of measuring your weight in relation to your height. Although BMI is an accurate way of determining if you are in a healthy range overall, the waist to hip ratio is still the best tool for determining if your abdomen is within a healthy range. When used together the waist to hip ratio and BMI provide a quick non-invasive snap shot. All you need is your height and weight measurements (use a scale and tape measure for accuracy-no guessing).
